Where margin leaks

Detailing Errors Cost Your Margin

In steel, the cost of a detailing error multiplies: scrap in the shop, field fixes on site and a crane that stands still.

  • Field Fixes on Erection Day

    Where margin leaks
Holes that miss and members that do not fit stop the crane and send steel back to the shop.
    What we fix
Every connection modeled and checked in 3D before a single piece is cut.
  • Shop Floor Waiting

    Where margin leaks
Fabrication stalls while approvals go back and forth, and the erection schedule slips with it.
    What we fix
Approval and shop drawings released in sequences that keep the shop busy.
  • Bids Lost on Tonnage

    Where margin leaks
Bad estimates win the wrong jobs or lose the right ones, and both hit your annual margin.
    What we fix
Material take-offs generated directly from the model, traceable to every single piece.
  • Connections Undefined

    Where margin leaks
Connections left to the fabricator delay approvals and push RFIs into the fabrication window.
    What we fix
Connection design and calculations to AISC 360 and AS 4100 for engineer review.

What clients ask first

Steel Detailing: Common Questions

Straight answers from our engineering team. If your question isn’t here, ask us directly.

Ask a senior engineer An engineer replies within one business day.
Which steel detailing services do you provide?

Structural steel detailing, steel connection design, miscellaneous steel detailing, material take-off, metal staircases and mezzanine platforms, with approval drawings, shop drawings, erection drawings and NC files for your machines.

Which software and standards do you work to?

Tekla Structures, SDS2 and Advance Steel, to AISC 360, AISC 303 and AWS D1.1 in the US, and AS 4100 and AS/NZS 1554 in Australia.

Who is responsible for the design?

Design responsibility stays with your architect or engineer of record, who reviews and seals the work. Bimgraphix does not stamp drawings; we answer for every sheet matching your design inputs, and any gap is raised as an RFI, never guessed.

How fast can you start, and how is it priced?

Most programs start within a week. We quote per sheet, per model, per floor or per package and confirm the schedule in writing before work begins, so dates and costs are known on day one. You can start with one package and judge the quality before committing the full program.

Is our project information kept confidential?

Yes. We work under your NDA from the first file. Everything we produce belongs to you, is shared only through Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore or a secure link, and is seen only by the team assigned to your project.
