Where margin leaks
Misc. Steel Errors Cost Margin
Misc. steel touches every trade. Each drawing error means remade steel or a failed inspection.
Field Fit Problems
- Where margin leaks
- Lintels, embeds and frames that miss openings or slab edges clash on site and are cut.
- What we fix
- Every piece checked against the architectural and structural sets, so it fits first time.
Failed Inspections
- Where margin leaks
- Stairs, ladders and guards that miss code fail inspection and hold up occupancy.
- What we fix
- Drawings prepared to IBC, OSHA, AS 1657 and AS 4100, so every item passes inspection.
Connection Errors
- Where margin leaks
- Wrong holes, plates and welds send steel back to the shop and stall the erection crew.
- What we fix
- Every connection, bolt pattern and weld detailed for fabrication, so steel ships once.
Repeated Errors at Scale
- Where margin leaks
- One drawing error repeats across every floor and opening, multiplying the rework cost.
- What we fix
- Standardized, checked drawings for every piece and level, so errors never repeat.

What clients ask first
Miscellaneous Steel Detailing: Common Questions
Straight answers from our engineering team. If your question isn’t here, ask us directly.
What miscellaneous steel do you detail?
Shop and erection drawings for stairs, ladders, railings, platforms, lintels, embed plates, frames, equipment supports and canopies, in carbon steel, stainless and aluminum, with bills of material and CNC files.
Which codes do you follow, and who is responsible for the design?
AISC 360, OSHA 1910 and 1926 and AWS D1.1 for US projects; AS 4100, AS/NZS 5131 and AS 1657 for Australian projects. Design responsibility stays with your engineer of record, who reviews and seals the work. Bimgraphix does not stamp drawings; we answer for every sheet matching your design inputs, and any gap is raised as an RFI, never guessed.
How do you make sure misc. steel fits before it ships?
Every item is modeled against the structural and architectural drawings, so embeds, lintels and supports line up with what is built. Each package is independently checked and senior-reviewed before release.
How fast can you deliver, and how is it priced?
We quote per piece count or per package and confirm the delivery schedule in writing before work begins, so dates and costs are known on day one. Work is released in packages by area or trade need, so your team can start early. You can begin with one small package and judge the quality before committing the full program.
Who owns the work, and how is our data handled?
You do. All models and drawings we create for you are your property. We sign your NDA before receiving files, exchange them through Trimble Connect, Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore or a secure link, and limit access to your project team.
